Today was like...the best day ever. My ribs hurt from laughing and my cheeks are sore from smiling.

Ness should have birthdays every day :D <3

Too tired for details, but I am just so happy!

I got black curtains and put them up so I could finally say goodbye to the pink ones. Ness can have her curtains back! Though really we should wash those...

But YAY BLACK CURTAINS! They are JUST long enough to reach the windowsill but hush! I love them :D And they look amazing with my purple lights over them. I also bought a very cheap but very nice shirt (we were at the warehouse, this entire purchase was pretty darn cheap) and the shirt not only suits me, but I look hot in it.

SO HAH! THINGS ARE AWESOME!

Other things in the list of awesome that is today? Watching movies with my Leah, and Dirty Life coming back. I am going to write some Nicholas and Hannah SO hardcore! Eeeiiiii!

I can remember the 5th of November but apparently not how to put my pants on. Hmmm.

Happy Guy Fawkes, Christchurch. You deserve it.

I got all dressed up tonight and made my housemates say "WHOA!" so that was nice!

Date was awesome! Really beautiful, funny, interesting and thoughtful girl. Nice food, and a silly movie with Chris O'Dowd in it. And a run-in with a surprise Ness! All in all, an awesome evening out even though I probably shouldn't have been out. So tired now. I will sleep for a very long time, but that was what I needed. Stupid bed. I never thought I would get sick of seeing you.

Also, I had cheesecake. <3 We are having relations, cheesecake and I*. Oh yes.

* In case it wasn't clear, this is a joke.

My name is Lara and I have epic man-shoulders. I am six feet tall, so this is hardly surprising. My shoulders are so broad that I have AMAZING trouble finding a nice jacket that fits comfortably. I can always find coats, but not jackets. ...or is it the other way around? I can find the big bundly ones you wear in the snow, but not the nicer ones you would wear out to dinner when it is less cold than...snow.

Anyway, after a quick search at Farmer's today, I actually found one. It's made out of cotton so it is super comfy and it's long and nice and I LOVE it. And I am so excited to have a coat/jacket that fits that I kind of want to wear it to bed. SHUT UP you have no idea how this feels after nearly three decades of not being able to raise my arms in anything because of my stupid shoulders. I am so happy. I can stop wearing my raggedy black pullover now. YAY.

Also, if my cats could stop getting sick and wounded, that'd be nice. I am a paranoid freak, babies. I don't like panicking about you! Echo has this huge chunk out of her, probably from playing roughly with Helios. So. To the vet we go. AGAIN. Ah, pets. But I do love them so. And Echo was curled up with Ariadne today for the first time and I basically just melted into goo. And took a million photos, because I am nothing if not predictable.

Room progress continues. Will show photos when complete. Coffee date tomorrow after it was delayed last Sunday. Got a text from her today saying she couldn't wait which made me all grinny. My stomach is currently home to ten thousand butterflies. It's actually nice.

I do not go to parties, but last night Alison went to one and she texted me many times. It was an epic text conversation. She has recently turned predictive text on. This is a case for not doing so...

Herein lies a record of Alison's amazing drunk!texts. I was laughing all night long.

Saint Patrick's Day is nice :D

And Chelsea is adorable.

We ate chili (I was too lazy to plan something Irish and I like chili better than Irish food anyway) and watched Tim Minchin and had wine and Bailey's.

And we watched All Dogs Go to Heaven. It is awesome.

Good night!

Alison was supposed to go to bed but she just came out here to get a drink and there is no way that we could possibly ever explain the conversation that just occurred between us, but it was epic hilarity though it was the kind where you had to be there and now my stomach hurts from laughing. It was pure ridiculousness and we both laughed so hard, and I feel like I might vomit.

And then I thought, "you know what? I think I feel like this at least once a day." I think living in a house where you laugh so hard you think you might vomit at least once a day is pretty damn awesome, no matter what else is going on in my messed up little world.

Long live the LFoD and all it's denizens, past and present!

EDIT: For more examples of why the LFoD is the greatest place on Earth, I present Alison's Overheard in the LFoD tag in her journal which is chock full of hilarity and quotes.

My head hurts from laughing.

Today I went in to visit Ness at her work and I purchased a new phone since my old one was a little dilapidated and the battery was annoying. New phone is wi-fi enabled and snazzy and I downloaded apps for my yahoo!mail and a few other things. It also has a Tim Minchin background (took me forever to find one that worked because it has to be really wide instead of long) and it plays a Sherlock Holmes ringtone when the phone rings. I enjoy this! So farewell to the Barbie Dream Phone. I shall miss you BDP. You were good to me and you rotated pictures of my favourite people (the ones I don't know in person...). Alas, the time has come to part ways.

On the uni front, I have finally enrolled but this is after the head of the program himself had to call me and assure me they would get onto getting me through the approval process right away. US student loans at an NZ university are frickin' FUN, I'll tell you what. But I can't complain too much. Without them, I'd be up shit creek with no degree. Well...with two degrees I don't use, instead of three with one I DO hope to use.

Miss my housemates. They're at Canterbury Faire and I remain home, alone with the cat! Ness came over to watch Sherlock and entertain me, which was awesome! <3 And now, since I spent almost all of yesterday sleeping (I was literally awake for about 6 hours of yesterday in total. and then I slept until 10:30 this morning...), I will spend the night drinking tea from my dragon tea pot and writing things with myself and trying not to panic about poor Queensland and the category 5 cyclone headed towards them :(. Just fuck, man.

My housemates crack me up. I was talking about Saint Patrick (which I hardly ever do... /lies) and an AU I wrote with Ness last night. Saint Patrick and the rest of the patron saints of the UK consider themselves brothers in Forgotten Strays. And there's an AU based on if Patrick had sold his soul (long story) and became evil and started being a smarmy bastard to everyone in his family. Ness plays his Welsh brother, Saint David, who goes by Dewi. Which I don't think is actually pronounced 'Dewey' but I say that anyway because...I love Dewey Riley from Scream.

Anyway. I was telling Alison that AU!Dewi went badass and shot Patrick's eye out. And the following conversation happened:

Me: "And Dewi totally shot out Patrick's good eye and he died! Dewi went all rogue!"
Ali: "Huey and Louie are going to be so upset!"
Me: "..."
Ali: "Uncle Scrooge is going to be pissed!"

Cue me laughing like an idiot because I am so tired that Duck Tales humour is the most amusing thing EVER.
