Been avoiding my journal because LJ pisses me off. So here's a quick update:

Back in New Zealand. Being in the US and avoiding real life was awesome. Now I have to do actual decisions though. Calling WINZ tomorrow to look in to going on disability for chronic fatigue since I still completely crash out of nowhere and just can't do anything. Then I need to up my meds because being sick for so long is depressing and what I'm on isn't enough any more.

Also I have a cold which I am sure I got from the plane.

BUT I am back with my kitties and my housemates. They are such lovely people. I couldn't ask for better people to be with while I slog my way through this.

Once I figure out what I am doing next year, then I need to just get better. Because really? I'd like my life to continue and it feels like it has just stalled. I don't like it.

I DID STAINED GLASS! And despite the fact that my hands shake like a mofo, I managed to complete my entire little butterfly in one class and she said it would probably take two. And the lady said it was really good! My shaky hands don't actually matter because you can always fix seams and grind the edges of glass so yay!

So next week I am going to start a stained glass shamrock. Predictable I may be, but husha your face. So now I want to make a little stained glass thingy for each of the housemates. Too bad I doubt I will be able to find an easy kakapo pattern for Alison ;) But I will find something! It's so fun too! I have no artistic skills so this is good. And you get to crack glass. >:D!

Anyway, Missoula with my Pants was awesome. We had a great time. We watched Supernatural and basically went out to eat at all the places we loved when we lived together. And we went to the Hickory Farms booth and Jayann bought a million sausages. Okay two, but they were huge. And I bought smoky cheese. And also mints. Anyway, it was a good time. And I managed to come home with like...dozens of candy canes. Stupid Wal-Mart.

But yay, stained glass! (I just wrote sainted. Dear LORD, Lara.)

Just had a dream a tsunami happened in CHCH. I was in some...ocean-front school or something. I don't even know except my old boss Michael was there and he seemed to be in charge. I made mention of a wave that had been so big it had crashed into the building and reached our second floor windows. And then someone yelled "everyone look! In the direction of Hokitika!" And this massive wave was headed our way from behind, set to go right over us.

I yelled at Alison who suddenly appeared at this school (I have no idea what I was doing there...) to go higher so we raced up these stairs to the attic and held on while the wave crashed over us. Because apparently the building was made of adimantium or something as it was still standing while a bunch of other buildings were not. Then Jen, who appeared as well, decided to GET A BOAT that they had to PUT TOGETHER (it so would have leaked) that she and Alison were going to row to Hokitika to check on their family. The tsunami was still going, but they wouldn't listen when I was like "uhm. So I don't think that's the most brilliant idea you've ever had."

Then I went back down to the second floor where people were gathered, waiting for subsequent waves. People were calling loved ones, so why Jen and Ali didn't just use the phone is beyond me. Then Alina and I went outside as a wave crashed beside us. Because apparently we had to have silly ideas too. And we were like, "well, this sucks."

And then I woke up. Don't know what that was about, but I'm suitably disturbed!

PS I just tried to spell-check adimantium. Then I remembered it wouldn't be a real word, considering it's not a real mental. Wow, me. It wanted to change it to Byzantium. THE BUILDING MUST HAVE BEEN MADE FROM BYZANTIUM BECAUSE IT STAYED UP!

I so overdid it on the days I had energy. I have spent the last two days basically sleeping and nothing else. Both days I went to take 'a nap' and ended up sleeping twelve hours and when I woke up I was really confused. I have been awake three hours now and I am ready to go back to bed.

Must stay awake. Have class. And if I have another cup of coffee I'll be shaking too hard to take notes...

Alison gets home tonight though omgomgomg and I will wake up when she gets here I DON'T EVEN CARE because :D:D:D Then she has to leave me again. I can sleep while I'm alone!

Those days I had energy though...gosh they were good. And it did go to show me that this won't last forever even if it does feel like it.

And I looked up plane tickets to the US yesterday and it's cheaper for my parents if I stay for like...two months. Cheaper by 1,000 dollars. Which is the choice I would make if I were buying them! It'll be nice to get away. And if I sleep this much in Montana, at least I'm not missing anything ;)

It seems the worst of the snowpocalypse might be over, which is good. I don't know when things will open again, but it will be nice not to feel stuck at home. Not that I go anywhere these days, but I like it to be an option. It does mean Alison will fly away from us tomorrow, waahhhh. Let's not focus on that, or the fact that a virus deleted the essay I had mostly finished so I had to write 2,100 words for it last night. I kicked it's arse though. Thanks to my own personal cheerleader. His name is Simon!

So here is a pictorial account of the last few days. It is awesome and features mostly cats, my bathrobe, Jen in an awesome costume, a lot of me (some upsidedown) and a photo that looks like I am choking Ariadne. I was not.

Listen close to everybody's heart )

It's supposed to snow again here this weekend. Report! Apparently Sunday and Monday it's going to be all cold and gloooomy! So we shall shop tomorrow so there is no need to walk to the store in the snow. Wheee.

This very cold outbreak is likely to cause significant disruption to the country,as was the case with the last cold outbreak about two weeks ago.

The weather is welcome to disrupt my essay due date!

EDIT:

Lara: "I had three onions for lunch. I wanted some so I cooked three and ate them."
Alison: "I love you!"
Lara: "...I love you too. Why?"
Alison: "You decide you want something and then you fry it up and you eat it!"

All I do is complain!~

So here:

Today I was trying to reply to a text Alison sent me about wankers in business suits. I was trying to reply with "ew wank!" but auto-correct changed my words. So it became "Ew wankmoth!" I caught it before it sent, but then I sent it anyway because lol!

Wankmoth is in my auto-correct dictionary. It makes me happy.

Snow + New Zealand + Kitties + best friends + some Baileys (optional) + warmth + cameras = awesomeness.

I made it to six hours awake! After sleeping for 16. I didn't even know my housemates went out to a comic convention thing this afternoon. Ali was telling me about it and I was like "You weren't gone!" and she was like "...uh huh!" Maaannnn. Comic conventions are my THANG too. Because I am a NERD. But sleep. Sweet sleep.

Now I have to go do that before I pass out. But I made it six hours. And I actually accomplished things while I was awake. I didn't get to all my tags, but I can finish the rest when I wake up. Which hopefully won't be in like twenty hours...

Frak this virus!

My throat hurts and my head hurts and I can't seem to spend more than 5 or 6 consecutive hours awake at a time. And that's if I'm lucky. I spend those hours wanting to be asleep or half-asleep (and all nauseated) while the telly is on in the background. My doctor isn't in until Thursday. I am hoping it's just a cold that's taken me down with it, and not glandular fever (mono for you yanks) but the other day I had fever chills. And all the coughing is coming from my throat, not my lungs.

Hhhrrunnngggg.

I did go to the store today, but I had to lean on the shopping trolley and I don't quite remember the walk there. I was dizzy the entire time and wanted to stop and lie down on several occasions. Probably not very smart, but I am so sick of my stupid (so comfy) bed and I needed cat food. And a jelly mold. Don't ask...

I tried to read yesterday, just one of my ghost books. Each story is like 500 words long. I would reach the end and have no idea what I just read. This...is...awful. But OH I found a book called Queer Hauntings on the Book Depository website. And both Leah and Alison said (separately) "It's like all your favourite things! Gay people and ghosts!" It's funny 'cause it's true.

Please cross your fingers for me and hope I'm just being a pathetic, whiny loser? I would rather that than actually being quite ill.

And this is all the coherence I can handle today. And it took me far longer than it should have because I kept drifting off and almost falling asleep.
