Last night I went to bed at 7 pm and woke up around 2 am. I watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special (and cried my eyes out at the end of it <3) and then fell asleep again. My mother just came to wake me up. It's 3 pm.

WELL. THAT'S A LOT OF SLEEP.

Stupid chronic fatigue.

But Christmas was lovely! And I had a dream that the girls and Woot and I moved into a new flat (I don't know why...) and it was haunted by these protective ghosts. And there was a stream in the backyard. And the kitchen was awesome. But you know, I AM rather partial to the LFoD so I don't know why I keep dreaming that the girls and Woot and I go apartment hunting. I think it's just because I like buildings.

I blame www.foxtons.co.uk No. Really.

I cut out the glass pieces for a bat today :D I will foil him and solder him tomorrow. He is purplely red and I enjoy him. I searched everywhere for easy Egyptian stained glass patterns to make Leah something though, and came up with zip. Poos.

I have finally started to like Amy Pond in Doctor Who. It only took a series and a half. At first she bored me and then she annoyed me and now I think she's okay. Mostly because Rory is there <3. I have mostly accepted Matt Smith as the doctor too. Don't get me wrong, he's brilliant. But it is all a matter of preference and he's not one of my favourites. Three and Ten still get those spots. And for me Smith is just below Tom Baker and just above Christoper Eccleston. But I don't dislike him like Colin Baker (FFFffffugh). I think one of the reviewers summed it up best when he said Matt Smith is a delight to watch and he plays the Doctor well, he just brings nothing new to the part. I agree, though I know there are others who do not. I just miss the depth of emotion Tennant showed on his face. Smith is much more into underplaying it, which is fine! I just prefer the other way. Though under the direction of Moffat, the entire series is different than it was under Davies. I miss having a connection to London. I also kind of miss when...like...storylines made sense. I love Moffat and even when Davies was at the helm his episodes were some of my favourite, but...WHAT EVEN?! His arcs are AMAZING but halfway unintelligible at times.

Also? I really want to hate River Song, but I don't. There was a moment a few episodes ago where she kissed Eleven for the first last time and her reaction- I started crying and then cursed at her for making me love her. Dammit.

And no one should ever let Richard Curtis write an episode ever again. That bastard always makes me cry. Well, okay not always because Blackadder didn't make me cry until the end of the fourth series, but I'm a sucker and the last shot of Vincent and the Doctor, just...man. AND Neil Gaiman's awesome episode made me weepy too. I loved it.

Everything is Doctor Who and nothing hurts.

I have been watching it...mostly non-stop when I can't sleep. Because <3. I love how many actors I adore guest-star on it! Leonora Critchlow, Ardal O'Hanlon (whom I correctly identified by his voice because there is no confusing Father Dougal MacGuire with anyone else), that man who plays Percy in Blackadder. And Mark Gatiss, of course. I'm just in awe of it. If only my former hate for David Tennant (and I still can't stand Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter 4) hadn't kept me from watching this sooner. I can be so daft sometimes ;) Today I was in the car telling my mother that David Tennant could basically act anything. He's mesmerizing. And I absolutely believe that.

Yeah, anyway. Real life also exists. I am heading to Missoula to visit my Jayannpants on Friday which means I will miss visiting with my mother's friend Peter. Whom she casually fucking mentioned happens to have known basically everyone from The King's Speech. He comes from an aristocratic South African family and he went to study abroad in England (kind of like one Avery Driscoll) and apparently through his family he knew the Mountbattens and the...others, and blahblahblah. It's probably best I won't be here so I don't have to fight the urge to ask annoying questions like "DID THEY WEAR CROWNS TO DINNER!? OMG SO EXCITED!"

And my parents continue to be hilarious and awesome. My mother wants to teach me to make stained glass things. With my shaky hands. I'll give it a go. Here's hoping I don't solder my face off! And Larry is making calls because he wants another horse. Apparently he annoyed some woman today because he...like...asked intelligent questions. How rude of him. How dare he know the right questions to ask! Pfft.

My step-father is awesome. He walked into the room holding this bowl of pumpkin pie innards I baked and said, "are these punkin guts for eatin'?" He was also reading the clouds to me yesterday. They were long and streaky and he was all "Those are lenticular clouds. It means there are mighty high winds around the tops of those peaks there. If you were flying a small aircraft you'd want to stay away from those clouds." He likes unleashing some of his pilot-fu. Like when we drive across the state and he points out fields he landed his plane in. It's kind of hilarious.

ANYWAY it's blizzarding here now, wheee! SNOWING SIDEWAYS! Also I am hyper. I haven't had energy since I've been here and all of a sudden YAHOOOOOOO ENERGY!

My poor mother has to deal with me *snickers* Also Simon but you see, that is voluntary.

Yesterday I got Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke. It's translated into English which is sad, but it was two bucks at a thrift store. And it's Rainer Maria Rilke. Who could write a grocery list down and I would read it with glee.

Oh and I watched more Doctor Who and I now believe if they don't let David Tennant light the torch for the 2012 Olympic games in London, I will be very, very upset!

This kitten actually wakes me up every three hours like clockwork. I went to sleep at midnight, and he woke me up at 3. I fell asleep again and he woke me up at six and I tried to fall asleep again for an hour to no avail. I carried my cat in here to cuddle and he chased her away and is now claiming my chest. Dear Helios. I WANT TO CUDDLE MY ARIADNE! And sleep some time this century. But GOD you are cute.

My sleep schedule has been so messed up and I am so tired all I can do while I am awake is lie there and watch DVDs. I haven't actually written anything in almost a week and a half other than the odd tag. It makes me feel antsy, but much less antsy than I probably would have been without the meds. They are chilling me out big time.

Also, I made salsa yesterday and it tastes like a Mexican restaurant. Sogoodomg. And Ewan is now falling off my wall. I shall go punish him ;D

I GOT OUT OF BED TODAY! And it is 7 in the morning, so I got out of bed in a timely fashion. I hadn't slept the night before and then saw Leah to the airport and did some shopping. So yesterday I made lunch and ate it in bed before falling asleep until 6 pm. Then I watched Final Destination and Grey's Anatomy until about eleven. Ate more, and slept until 6 am. Now I am on the couch. but yesterday feels like it didn't exist!

Tonight I am making ziti. I only wish they sold Italian sausage here. It's not as good with ground beef, but alas!

In the DVD release of Final Destination I am guessing they couldn't get the rights for Leaving on a Jet Plane because it plays 'fire in the sky' instead. It had to be John Denver, since the woman puts a record on with 'JOHN DENVER LOOK, IT'S JOHNNY DENVER RECORD' on it. But it was so weird to see it without that song since I associate the two so strongly. I also learned a few other things by watching the movie again that seem to only be true in the world of this movie.

1) Black people only exist to deliver creepy, over-dramatic monologues about death.
2) Apparently just by hearing said monologue, you can jump to the completely random conclusion that Death is still coming for you and you have to figure out Death's design.
3) Girls can't drink beer, they have to drink girly drinks like wine.
4) No one can act, not even Ali Larter's wig.
5) Kerr Smith is a peepantshead.
6) Just never ever go to France, okay? France = Death.

Today I have to finish my work thing, reply to Lewi's email, vacuum, do the dishes, shop for ziti supplies, get the cats' monthly flea treatment stuff (since I will never ever slack on that again, ffs) and maybe start on my essay. I already mostly caught up at FS. I AM SO PRODUCTIVE, LOOK AT ME! Maybe I should start on that Tim Minchin mood theme too ;)

Lewi sent me an email talking about the classes he is teaching this semester. The poor guy has to teach Twilight. In a literature course. I read the books, despite hating pretty much every second of it, because I was morbidly curious and I am also a completionist. I read lines out loud to Lewi and he cringed and once he told me he refused to read them or watch the movies because he didn't want to support SMeyer's career since she shouldn't have one, and I so agree.

I enjoy the movies. I enjoy them because the actors are basically aware the source material is largely bollocks so they get on getting on. And Jacob is yummy even though that makes me feel like a dirty old woman. Billy Burke's moustache, also. It is just amazing. The movies can whiz by in an hour and a half and it doesn't matter that they don't have much to them because it's trashy fun. The books though. They basically read like a how to guide to having no self-esteem and they go on FOREVER. Poor Lewis being forced to read them! It must be like exquisite torture. His own personal hell. I told him not to go into the light.

I should link him to the [livejournal.com profile] m15m review by Cleolinda when he's done. It will be his reward.

Speaking of good, trashy fun, I am now on season 5 of Grey's Anatomy. It is ridiculous, but JDM is in them again and his smiling face basically makes me feel better about the world at large.

Quick public service announcement: I will defend the people I care about if they are insulted or threatened in front of me. That's what I do. It comes from witnessing violence in my home growing up. I don't deal well with verbal abuse because of this, and I will point it out. That is all.

Anyway, I finished the fifth season of Dexter in like three days. I consume that show like very few other shows. I never want to stop watching it. I would watch it...pretty much constantly, if that were possible. I don't know what it is about it. But the fifth season, without being spoilery, was my favourite, I think. I loved the relationships that developed and the way they panned out. I loved it all. I am so bummed there isn't any more yet. It's just done so well.

And I think my fascination with it might make me kind of sick, but WHATEVER, IT'S AWESOME! And fictional.

...and I don't write deeply disturbing fiction sometimes. No. I'm just fine. *fidgets* ;)
