Talked to my sister and my mother on the phone which was a grand way to spend the afternoon! My step-father is so adorably awesome, by the way.

Mom: "Larry, I'm on the phone with Lara, do you have any questions for her?"
Larry: "Is she happy?"

I'll tell you what, Larry, the fact that you asked that makes me very happy, indeed. You win all the things.

Had a wonderful time the other day with Kate and Tina, despite the random rain and Westfield Riccarton being evacuated. I still have no idea what that was about... But yes, YAY lovely! We went to The Cup and had lunch and Tina and I talked about American Things, you see. :D

After having a wonderful day, I was all hyper and lalalala! and then I tried to sleep early because I had to get up at 7:30 for a conference call. I was smart and stuff. I went at like 9:30 because I actually felt tired. But no. I stayed awake all night. And thought about things I had to do. And when I ran out of real life things, I thought about role play things. I fell asleep for about fifteen minutes and dreamed a conversation with Simon I only remembered wasn't real in the middle of the next day when I realised it was about John and Patrick opening a donut bar... (Chelsea suggests they call it HOLY DONUTS and I think she is the most adorable thing ever)

But mostly I was awake. And THEN I couldn't figure out the STUPID number to the conference thing, so I was 20 minutes late to the conference call. And then I was tired all day yesterday because of no sleep. So I kept almost crying for no reason. Finally put myself to bed around 10, hoping to sleep for about 12 hours and then get started (well more started, I did some when I was sleepy) on this work thing for my Mom.

Then I was awakened by a 5.1 earthquake (as I wrote this, the tiniest aftershock just happened!) and they have been happening all day and ARGH!

But I am warm, despite the cool day outside. I am safe, there was no damage to the house, my housemates are okay, and I have my kitty. And so much else. Despite the little rant, I reckon I'm doing far more than just okay.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.

I did my family for this part, since I know people who read this who get absolute anxiety attacks over these particular memes and I won't do that to them. Only three people reading these are on here, one is my sister and the other two I live with. If you are reading this at ALL, I love you!

Beware. I am totally honest and mushy when it comes to how I feel about people (well 9 out of 10) because I am part Care Bear. And sometimes it makes people go O_O.

I was feeling down today (LONG story) so I decided to do something constructive to take the feeling away (social work training, oy) so I wanted to make a post of all the photos of people and places and things that mean something to me. And when I started to plan it, I realised just how long it would be if I put everyone into it. And that made me feel so amazing, you have no idea...

I did it anyway deciding I would only use photos I have taken myself (or by my family since I wasn't at the reunion to take those and I didn't take the ones of me as a kid, but you get the point!) to cut down on spamming random Hugh Jackman pictures ;). Not everyone that should be here is including my friends in Australia. Woot, Peter, Laura and Ness, I have no (not blurry) photos of you!! And there are other friends who aren't on here, but be that as it may, here it is. Some of my happy things.

We were playing the game Apples to Apples, which is a game where one person pulls a card with a describing word, and the rest of the people have hands of seven nouns. The point of the game is to find one or two nouns from your hand which the describing word describes and then the person who had the describing word judges which noun works best. SO, if I pull the card and it says 'Snazzy' and you have a hand of seven cards you have to choose which fits best. Like 'tuxedo' or 'James Bond' or even something funny like 'potatoes'.

So, the word was 'Spunky'. MMhmmm. The card suggested 'Spunky' meant Upbeat, uplifting, cheerful. Of course, it means other things in slang terms. Which I won't link from my mother's work computer, but look it up in the urban dictionary, okay. Anyway, the person judging ended up with lots of cards, and one among them which said 'My Bedroom'. Which is HILARIOUS in the slang way! It won, and guess who put it in there?

My MOTHER.

Which is SHOCKING if you know her. And when we asked if she knew what the slang term meant? She did. Which is why she put it in there.

I am going to laugh about it FOREVER. :D!

Happy birthday to Circe and my Mommy! Also to Peter Kemp, who is 39 and displeased about it. Chin up, old chap. It's not like you're actually getting any older. Moving on...

Vienna Love.

I went to the London Dungeons with the lovely Muz, Clare and Lisa. We jumped the line and I got in free, which was quite lovely! It was awesome and more involved than the Edinburgh Dungeon, and Idid the ride again and then Clare bought me pictures of the ride with me screaming and Muz looking too cool, and Lisa and Muz beheading Clare and I! Then we met up with Jess and had lunch where I had fish and fish and fish and chips. No. Really. I'll upload the pictures tomorrow and you'll be amused. And I ended up eating fish and fish and half-fish and half-chips so I finished most of it, GO ME! Then we went to the tower of London, after walking across the tower bridge which REALLY EXCITED ME (it did, ask any of my compatriots) and the tower was awesome and we saw crown jewels OooooOooOOoOOOOooo! Then we went for pizza and then we went on a ghost bus tour which was AWESOME and I saw Big Ben and the houses of parliament AND WE DROVE OVER TOWER BRIDGE IN A DOUBLE DECKER BUS LIKE IN THE MUMMY 2 OMGOMG except Brendan Fraser wasn't there. Which was most upsetting. But a strange and somewhat fit conductor was. He was awesome. It was a great tour. And I got a picture of where Sweeney Todd's place was on Fleet Street! And then when we were walking back to the underground station we passed the theatre where Jude Law is performing Hamlet but I DIDN'T lick him and the fact that he wasn't actually there has NOTHING to do with it at ALL... I'm a good girl.

AND TOMORROW IS DARKER LONDON DAY and I might be having a really excellent time, if you couldn't tell :D

MY mommy just said "Cool Beans"!

I know most of you won't care, but it was awesome. Also she gave me the laptop for my birthday, without me knowing that was what it was. It amuses me.

I finally finished a paper that's been driving me crazy for a week!!! Mostly because I don't have the book I'm supposed to be writing it on...go figure ;) I still feel a bit like crap, but what can ya do. I finished my paper, my cat is asleep on top of my laundry and it's damn adorable, I am talking to My Lewi. Life is good :) I still have to go to the bank. Damn you money! ;) And I have to send stuff to my mom and to Rosie. I hate having errands, because I always plan them out to the last minute detail and it's sad because they don't take much planning...but that's what I do, lol. Anyway it's almost time for me to work once again. Have to earn money for the strip show tomorrow (yes...Lara is going to a strip show....yes Lara is going to wear a bag on her head) Ta-ta!
