We were watching Being Human earlier and my housemates had this conversation-

Leah: "Alison, do you know what's about to happen? We're about to watch Aiden Turner have sex! That'll make everything better."

Alison: "I did a really gross burp earlier and I almost threw up."

Leah: "...I liked my story better."

And then we watched Shawshank Redemption and Alison had never seen it before. She is currently bawling on her chair. She said, "I am going to bottle my tears and send them to Stephen King!"

I might have laughed very hard about that. She is amazing.

Spent Christmas day with Laura and Leah and it was magical and awesome. I haven't eaten that much in one day for...a very long time. Dear god. So we ate and watched DVDs all day. For like 12 hours. It was the best Christmas I have had in a damn long time.

Watched Clue, The Ring 2, Dungeons and Dragons (for the lols) and Ghostbusters 2.

We also watched the ultimate Christmas movie. The Addams Family.

Some quotes:

Laura: "Oh my god! One of my brothers' ex boyfriends looks like Lurch!"

Laura: "Hey, guys! If we have The Mask we could totally watch The Mask"
Leah: "We could. If I had a gun I could also shoot my kneecaps out!"

I don't think Leah approves of Jim Carrey. Just something about that gives me a hintling.

OH and Neil Gaiman linked to Tim Minchin's Christmas song White Wine in the Sun for the second year in a row in his Christmas blog. I love it when people I adore also adore each other :D

The LFoD had our Tim Minchin Christmas eve which was very nice. I gave everyone socks, Alison gave us all jocks, and Leah provided the chocolate. And now my poor kitten is wearing my new, pink knickers because Alison put them on her and said she was like a superhero cat who wears her undawears on the outside.

Ariadne is unimpressed.

So tired. Going to bed to watch Sherlock Holmes (sorry, Clare! I actually apologise to you out loud every time I watch this movie...) and grin at Jude and RDJ being boyfriends who love each other FOREVERS.

I bet I will be asleep before RDJ even gets to make his first bitchface at Judsie...

I feel so much better about the world in general after talking to my mommy. She's magical. And in 30-some hours, my Jayann will be here.

Freaking YAY.

Watched Tim Minchin's Enough Rope interview on Youtube. It's in 3 parts (the first part is here if you are interested and the other parts you can get to on the side menu) and he is adorbs when he talks about his wife. "Sarah's nice, I like her". His views on religion are much like my brother's too. They do seem really alike in their wit, which makes me adore Tim all the more.

ANYWAY then I had banana cake that Laura made. And then this happened because Laura and Leah are watching The Fifth Element.

Me: "GARY OLDMANNNN! It's okay he's annoying in this movie."
Laura: "He's in this movie? Who is he?"
Me: "The bad guy."
Laura: "...I thought Gary Oldman was short. And black."
Leah: "...that's Gary Colman"

Cue me nearly choking on my cake.

Both housemates are at a party and the Alison-shaped one is texting me. She's hilarious and drunk. I swear to god, she just sent me two text messages where she actually typed out 'Nothing to Display'.

Meanwhile, I am watching exorcism movies. Tomorrow is Halloween (OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG) and we are going to sit around all day and do nothing but watch horror films. The Leah-shaped housemate doesn't do exorcism films however, so I am getting my fix now. Watched The Unborn and then The Exorcism of Emily Rose and now onto The Exorcist.

First of all though, I have a rant. It is ridiculous. And about the movie Halloween: H20 and YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO JUDGE ME. I spoil the ending (and the plot of the Halloween movie that came after that) under a cut, but I do figure, since the movie is from 1998, if you wanted to see it, you would have already. Also? I forgot it was Joseph Gordon-Levitt at the beginning. AHHAHAHA stealing beer. And watching Plan Nine from Outer Space which they don't show on the telly, but I recognised the line they let you hear. Yes. I am a loser. But I love Edward D. Wood Junior.

Anyway... Jamie Lee Curtis rocks my socks )

Ahem. Anyway, now that it is officially Halloween in New Zealand, LET'S HAVE A DISCUSSION! If you like horror movies like me, tell me who your favourite villain is and why. Freddy Kruger, Michael Meyers, Jason Voorhees, Ghostface from Scream (though that was several people, so be specific!). Personally I like Mrs Voorhees because she is TERRIFYING. Jason doesn't say anything. His hockey mask is unsettling, but the killers who can run and speak creep me out more than the hulking shapes who stand there and then chase you by walking, but somehow catch up. What do you all think?

Something not earthquake related, I just finished Shutter Island (I watched half of it yesterday, fell asleep, and had WEIRD dreams...). I have never seen it before. Lewi saw it with his family though and once on the phone he said "there's a twist, but you'll probably figure it out right away?" and I said "is it ___?" and he was like "...uh...yes..." So while I usually figure out the ending of movies while I am watching them way before the twists are revealed, I figured out this one before I ever watched it! In my opinion, the trailer gave everything away.

So while I was watching it? I figured out every single detail. Who was fake, who was real, who Chuck was, who Teddy was, who Rachael was...all of it. I figured out the conversations he was having with that Nolan guy too. I am a little disappointed. Not in the MOVIE just...usually there's SOMEthing I don't figure out even if I get the big bits. Nope. Not a thing. I figured out exactly what they were doing, WHY they were doing it (nice one, Tom Cruise), and why he kept having headaches... Like...ten minutes into the thing. (Am I the only one? Lewi said he got parts of it, but what did other people figure out?)

COME ON, HOLLYWOOD! STEP UP! I WANT TO BE SURPRISED AGAIN! M. Night Shyamalan could never do it. Not even with The Sixth Sense. Someone out there has to be able to! Hell.

Still? I enjoyed it. It was fun and even though I figured it out, I do enjoy being proven right at the end.

(Harry was a horcrux. I predicted that at the end of the sixth book. This is why we listen to me.)

I JUST GOT THE AWESOMEST BIRTHDAY PRESENTS FROM LEWI! Including Season 2 of True Blood and Season 4 of Supernatural. AND SIMS games! Do you know, Honey, when you were all "do you have all the stuff packs" I had NO idea you were trying to grill me for presents. I am so amused. So much so that when I opened the box, I was all "dude, did I have mansion and garden stuff and I left it in Australia?" I am so amused. And now I need a guide for Ambitions, because he got me the latest expansion for SIMS 3 too :D And I got Paranormal Activity. Which I am terrified of. And no one here will watch it with me. Which means I will watch it at night in my room and then die of fright. YAY! Scarymoviesyayomg! +Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, which I love not only because it was Heath's last movie, but because it has Johnny Depp, and Flynn Jude Law and it's weird as hell.

Happy Lara :D And my birthday isn't for two weeks MUAHAHHAHAHAA!!! Thank you, Baby! (And I transferred you the shipping money this morning ;))

I got some more of my things as well (which is why I paid for the shipping!), meaning mostly my Star Wars Trivial Pursuit. Any NZers want to play me (I'M HAN SOLO AND NO YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM!)

Yes. I am a nerd.

Woof. Scarlett Johoohaasen in tight clothes and being AWESOME! So I saw Iron Man 2 :D It was wonderful! And Don Cheadle as War Machine was awesome and RDJ was awesome and Mickey Rourke has creepy fingernails but he was awesome too.

So I liked it!

And right now? Alison is cuckoo pants! No really, she is!

(Also, if Ariadne hadn't woken me up at 7:37 this morning, I would have slept through class! After going to be at 9:30 pm last night! Thank goodness for kitten!)

Went to see Sherlock Holmes again last night because APPARENTLY Melbourne is a city of child movie haters and The Princess and the Frog wasn't playing ANYWHERE I could get to without my car. And brilliant me, I took the train yesterday. Foo. So plans changed, and I'm going this weekend because I.Must.See.It.

So tired. Fell asleep watching Star Trek. Oh how I love...everyone on that show. Except the horrible Dr Pulaski. Stupid season 2. GET OVER WITH SO I CAN HAVE MY REDHEADED DOCTOR BACK! Pulaski can go suck a phaser for SRS.

Now I'm at work and I'm updating business processes and training people which ALWAYS puts me to frickin' sleep (BUT I DO LOVE MY JOB - NO SARCASM). So I'm rocking the caffeine hard and trying to decide what to write but there's so many things to choose from and when I'm overtired and caffinated my mind finds it really hard to make a decision, so instead I sit for HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS TRYING TO DECIDE until I'm too tired and fall asleep.

Stupid...illogical mind. WHY CAN'T I BE A VULCAN?

I love latte.

And Noel Fielding.

First things first, My Lewi is getting published!! Because he's superbrilliant ;) Everybody say YEEAAHHHHH!

Lewi and I went to see The Lovely Bones last night, and I did rather like it. I do have a complaint, however. Rachel Weisz and I have to have a little chat. The woman used to be sexy. She had curves. Curves of mmmmmm. Seriously. Exhibit 1 Exhibit 2 (although you can SEE the photo shopping here which means she's even curvier than that)

SO EXPLAIN THIS TO ME BECAUSE ARGH WHY!? )

That photo doesn't even QUITE do it justice because she's standing with her 'hip' out. In most of the movie, she looked sicklier and skinnier than that. She did NOT look like the main character's mother, she looked like her older sister because CLEARLY someone with that body is FOURTEEN YEARS OLD MY GOD!

Rachel. You used to make me so happy. You were beautiful and proud and good on you. Why why why?!
