Aaahhhhh I'm officially a student at University of Canterbury now, but they have to argue about whether or not I'm a domestic student or an international student first. Since I won't be there on a student visa, I can assure them I'll be a domestic student, BUT if they want to make doubly sure, that's A-OK with me! I just hope they get back to me by tomorrow so I can send my loan application off then.

PHEW!

I hate the 'arranging things' stage. It is my LEAST favourite stage. :| NOW I have to see if I can fit in taking the citizenship test in January. I'll have to fly back to attend the ceremony sometime during the year, but I doubt the Lewi will be complaining about seeing me. Just somehow I doubt it ;)

SOMEONE DO THIS CRAP FOR ME! I WANT TO BE FIFTEEN AGAIN!

Lewi picked up my transcripts from La Trobe so I can apply for my postgraduate programs, and I had forgotten how awesome I did! I look at my transcripts now and I'm all proud. Especially of my A/HD in Teaching Maths Method. That essay I did kicked ARSE (92% thank you very much!) and the practicals were also awesome!

It makes me all excited to study again. I was all 'oooh, essay writing' last week. But yeah. I CAN do it. And I can do it well. Sometimes it's just nice to be reminded, even if it IS bittersweet because my awesome marks are being wasted because I won't teach with the Aussie curriculum the way it is.

Cest la vie. Time to move on.

Sooooo, I've been in discussions with the Uni regarding studying my Masters. And there was a chance I could study a unit this coming semester, starting in July. I just read the course outline and had a COMPLETE NERDGASM AT WORK (I actually squeed and they were like O_O)

Topics will include:
 Mainstream ethical theories relevant to human services: Aristotle and Virtue Ethics, Mill/Bentham/Singer and Utilitarianism; Kant and Deontology; Gilligan/Noddings and the Ethic of Care.
 Main philosophical concepts underpinning the practice of working with children and young people: utilitarianism, deontology, care, legalism
 Applied and Professional Ethics of the practitioner and ethics in working with children and young people.
 Concepts of children and young people’s welfare and protection.

Ahem.

And that very nerdgasm is why I decided to wait to study it in 2010. I can see myself in Vienna, opting to sit in a hotel room to read Nicomachean Ethics for the third time (the second time I read it, it was for fun - no jokes). I am SO looking forward to this. I haven't been this excited to study anything in a long damn time. And so as much as I want to do this RIGHT FREAKING NOW I'm going to wait until I can thoroughly enjoy it. (Watch me start the readings now anyway ;))

I'm proud of me right now. Feel free to join in ;)
