Character you’ve made more than once ~ I have several, though most of them are actually characters I brought over from my planned original fiction (or original characters from Buffy fanfiction, stfu) and put into Darker London. I have made lady_evanna twice because she originated in an RPG on GreatestJournal but that RP died, so I brought her over as Deirdre's cousin because I loved her too much to lose her.

Lavannah Adams lavannah was a medium character originally created for a story I was going to write and then got bored of (named Lora in the story, but changed because I knew someone named Lora by then). So I brought her to Darker London because I liked the idea anyway. She fascinates me because her grip on reality is soooo small, but she is so smart. And she says the weirdest things.

Kat angels_facade was actually an OC from a Buffy RPG I played with my Twinny for years. She was Rayne, Giles daughter. I have actually played her a few times, since I think she was in the Buffy RPG I started on LJ (which is somewhere in my communities) and then instead of making her someone's daughter in Darker London, I made her Peter's cousin. I love her to bits because she is so wonderful and so stupid. And her affair with Thomas was SO hot. And her hair was SO pink (it had been since Sunnydale so I am glad I could use Emilie Autumn!)

A band you’ve started to listen to because of rping ~Uhm... Well there's A Fine Frenzy. I saw her icons on Hollow Art and wanted to make her into someone. Then I looked her up on YouTube, listened to one of her songs and DIED. I love her so much. And there's Steve Vai, the PB for Spectre the rockstar angel (see icon) in_spectre_mors though his music kind of makes me want to shush him. He is SO ADORABLE. All the other bands from RP I probably would have listened to anyway because Lewi does love his bands!

The only character muse I have left in FG is Saint Patrick. Fucksticks. Memetime.

favorite character you’ve ever made ~ Since I already answered this by saying Flynn myeyesarehollow I guess I should talk about someone else. My second and third favourite characters are Peter Kemp and Thomas Littleton, in order. Peter father_peter pretty much made himself (and I have talked him to BITS in this journal because he's my main character. Just follow the tag if you care) and Thomas suave_thomas was an accident. I'll talk about him since I love him to bits and he's Hugh Jackman. Actually he is why I love Hugh Jackman...

He was a plot point in dirty_life to make Peter sad in the beginning and then later to make him happy, and Thomas didn't even have a journal (and was never supposed to since he was...like..dead!) but then I played him in a scene with Scout's Claire (how that is possible is a question for the Dirty Wiki (which is so handy!) and we all loved him. We decided he needed him to be a full character, despite being dead so I made him a journal and I needed a PB. Scout had just seen the 3rd X-Men movie (I had not) and kept showing me pictures of Hugh Jackman who (WAIT FOR IT) I didn't care about at that point. At all. I had seen him in the X-Men movies and just thought he was a hairy git (THAT HURT ME TO TYPE OMFG!). I am actually serious. And so as a JOKE I suggested I use Hugh for Thomas since the character was for Claire (and Peter. Oooooh Cletermas. The smut!) and it would make Scout happy. They convinced me to do it so I did. Without that, I never would have had my Thomas (SO, THANK YOU!). His backstory has changed significantly, as well as the reason he came back AND how because of moving games. He's alive now because I couldn't stand having him dead because I love writing him too much. AND I finally realised if I write the novel with Peter in it, one of the almost everything ever that has to be different is that Thomas HAS to be alive (because bringing people back in the novel will not happen. That's so Buffy/Supernatural). The death in the beginning that starts Peter's emo wangst (this is not true, Peter's emo wangst started when his sister died, but shhh) has to be someone else's.

Sorry, Stuart everscrumptious I love you SO MUCH. You are adorable and silly and Daisy Wenham. But I love Thomas more. He made me love Hugh Jackman. Who I now cannot get enough of. And who does pained acting better than I think anyone does. So you're being sacrificed in novel form. Live on in darker_london

day 05 - your favorite crackship ~ You know, most of my crackships in Darker London actually ended up as ships. Leah and I put her Nova and my Razvan your_razvan together for the lols and they ended up being really sweet. Tasha and Hope relinquite_spes weren't originally as serious as they turned out to be. There's the priest and the nun, Ciaran the_sacred_fire and Catalina. I can't think of any more, but it happens with startling regularity.

My favourite however, is father_peter Peter/Jillian. In a scene once, his narrative mentioned she had a nice arse and Leah thought that was hilarious and then we wrote an AU... Now in real Darker London he is in love with her sister and...you know...his WIFE. But I so wish he could be with Jillian because not only is it hot, it's AWESOMELY HOT.

In FG the totally random and non-sexual pairing of Michael and the Loch Ness Monster makes me grin!

day 06 - biggest pet peeve ~ In roleplay? Nikki. She couldn't write (or at least didn't take the time to) and she wouldn't read scenes or she would skim them and then respond. One time we were writing smut and she had her character spontaneously orgasm while apparently standing in the middle of the room, since her girlfriends had moved to the bed in the reply before that. And she missed it. She also never read anything except scenes she was in, which is fine, except then she would miss stuff and have characters post about things when they were no longer relevant or that made no sense with the other things they went on. She also couldn't separate IC from OOC in the worst ways and she made it so hard to write ANYTHING in case she might get angry or flip out. She hated IC conflict and since that's totally my favourite thing, that was an issue!

I am SO writing my essay on vicarious trauma right now! (Actually, reading the Memitim's bio on FG just actually gave me the missing start of my novel wouldn'tyouknowit, so I did that too. Essay and novel. And...this. Hush :D) I am continuing my 30 days of RP meme!

day 03 - your favorite female pb - This one is hard. I prefer to play men, and I think my male characters are always more well-rounded. My first original character I used in roleplay, however, was deirdre_ionuin my Deirdre Gallagher. She's now a rock star. When I started her in April, 2005, she was just a shy 16-year-old girl who didn't know what was going on. I stated that she was a redhead because I modeled her on my Kara Kent character from Superman (DO SHUT UP) and she had red hair. I used stock photos forever, until I saw all these lovely icons of this redheaded model on Leah's journal. And I thought...oh, I could use the photos of HER even though Deirdre is supposed to have green eyes and the model has blue eyes.

I had no idea that this was not a strange concept. It was called a played-by or PB. I thought I was being so clever to use an actual person for her photos, I am not even kidding. And the PB I found? Cintia Dicker. I think EVERY ROLEPLAY has or has had a Cintia in it. Because she is beautiful, she makes more than one face, and there are photos of her everywhere. So I thought I was being original and I was, in fact, being so unoriginal it's insane. Still, I love her. And over the past five and half years I have lived with Deirdre in my head, Cintia has become synonymous with her for me. I could never use her as anyone else, even though I can use Dylan Moran as someone other than Peter (which is mind-boggling). She's the perfect fit. Some PBs fit mostly and you just fudge the rest, but no. She is so perfect, Deirdre's eyes are now blue. Is she my favourite, however? I am not sure. I love using Emilie Autumn and Amanda Palmer as well. I just use Cintia more. And that is that!

day 04 - your favorite ship - HAH! Yeah, no contest. My Flynn myeyesarehollow and his husband, Quinn quinntaessentia. I will try to make this not so tl;dr. Flynn was in the PIRA. He met Quinn (they both had different names then but changed them for legal reasons oooOOOo) and had the hots for him. They made friends and Quinn showed Flynn violence isn't the way. Flynn's brother Frankie was angry and framed Flynn for several things including his own arrest. His parents kicked him out of home and Quinn went with him. They were homeless in Dublin and Flynn watched Quinn deteriorate. When he was sure Quinn might die, Flynn called Quinn's parents who had reported him as a runaway and he told them where Quinn was. Thus leading to six years of separation in which Quinn was loved by his family and Flynn was homeless.

Cut to three years ago when they reunited. They are, without a doubt, the sweetest thing I have ever written. And Quinn wasn't even supposed to be the random boy Flynn mentioned to his friend when talking about his past. I had created the character of Quinn a year before I made Flynn and suddenly Quinn was adamant he was this 'Ardal' Flynn kept talking about. I checked his backstory and everything he had said and it actually fit without me realising. I had no idea. I was creeped out. So I threw them together to see what would happen and holy crap, you guys. When I write them, I feel better about the world. They just love each other and I can't get enough.

Which is why I do terrible things to them sometimes, shhhh. They conquer all. Their tag is here with the oldest stuff way back, obviously. There are so many scenes there because I am insane.

OMFG I love them. Seriously. I love them waaaayyy too much.

I also love Spectre/Thomas and Aly/Peter. (And Noah/Daria YAY) They don't even come close to the love I feel for these guys though!

Token ghost books I buy every time I come to the US acquired! Why they don't sell books like this in NZ and Australia is beyond me. Except in The Haunted Bookshop in Melbourne. Oh Haunted Bookshop, I miss you even though your owner is an insufferable twat. For some weird reason, the guy LOVED me though I thought he would hate me because I look like SUCH a square. But when I asked for something and obviously knew what I wanted I think that helped. Actually, he probably loved me because I practically bought out his entire 'hauntings' section over the course of a year. He said it was harder and harder to find books on hauntings because of the internet, but there are plenty to be found here at Hastings and I found lots in the UK as well. Whatever, Drew is a weird guy. And he runs the Melbourne ghost tour. Which I would TOTALLY recommend if you are in Melbourne and interested in ghosts! It's awesome! Lalala Linky!

ANYWAY, I bought a huge book of tales of haunted places, because those are my favourite. Obviously as I have about 30 of the things. And then I bought Idiots Guide to the Paranormal because it not only talks about ghosts but it has stuff about angels and demons in there too. Which is interesting research for FG. I read about Belial in the car! And there's a section on the exorcism of Annaliese Somethingorother which was what The Exorcism of Emily Rose was based on.

I love these books. There was only one book by Holzer though. No good paranormal section is complete without several Hans Holzers, please. He wrote over a hundred of the things. Holzer died in 2009 and I totally cried because I am a loser. But he inspired my Father Peter father_peter because I wanted a character who knew about the supernatural (and is the reason Peter was in Austria originally, because Holzer is from Vienna) and his ideas of mediumship are still what I use when I write my mediums in Darker London.

Also? Also? I kind of bought The Idiot's Guide because it has a section called Father Peter's last Exorcism which made me laugh because like...MY Peter's last exorcism was Svetlana except it didn't work and Thomas totally died and I laughed out loud IN the store while I was reading what has nothing to do with my characters and is about a Roman Catholic exorcist. So there I am in the New Age aisle, holding a book about the paranormal and cackling. A lady who was walking by gave me a VERY strange look.

Video exam went fine! Not OMG FANTASTICALLY GREAT because I cannot relax in a situation like that, but I did everything I was supposed to and though I was obviously not relaxed and sometimes my questions were said in a strange way, I think I did just fine. Of COURSE I had to be interviewing the lady I don't like :( Stupid, bloody Shelley. You QUIT after first term, why the shit are you back for a random video exam, go AWAY why don't you?!

Anyway...trying not to overanalyse it in my head (LOL SOCIAL ANXIETY :| ) to the point of vomiting by doing this meme which I am sure will horrify me more than any one else. It's about explaining the reason you chose certain journal names. Though the FG people will suddenly understand why 10 characters is not a big deal...

(Though I did get DAN LOSER BROWN for a Templar scene, but since it analyses words, I protest that this is simply because of the similarities in subject, ie secrets within the Catholic Church. Screw you, Dan Brown. Screw you.)

EDIT: LEAH JUST SHOVED A BUNCH OF CABBAGE IN HER MOUTH SO IT HUNG OUT LIKE TENTACLES AND THEN TOLD ME SHE WAS CTHULHU!!! I believe this is because she tested her writing and got HP Lovecraft.

I have been SO productive today! I went to the store before it even opened and ended up waiting outside for ten minutes until they unlocked the doors. And then I got a bunch of writing done. Weehaw!

And Leah just yelped and then said "MY SHOULDER IS REALLY SOFT" and it was quite amusing... And now she's rubbing her shoulder with her face. Okay then!

In a case of art imitating life, I am now STILL awake at 8 (well now it's almost 9) in the morning, much like my new demon character in Forgotten Gods was complaining about almost 9 hours ago. FFFFFFFF And I can't sleep because Lewi is flying in (that is a yay!) and if I sleep, I won't go to the airport. And messaging my fiance to tell him to make his own way to my house just seems rude somehow... :D

So Circe, my co-awakeywake, and I are watching Firefly. LOL @ Aly's PB. I said "whoooooo, thigh!" and Peter in my head chastised me for perving on his wife. My head is SUCH a weird place to be. Especially when it's past 'crazy-awake' time.

Now I am going to eat potato wedges for breakfast. You wish you were as awesome as I am.... :D

"We came to see Johan's family." Werner explained, taking a seat on his son's desk chair.

"I thought your family blew, Mate?" Alastair asked, looking up at Johan.

"So did I!" Johan replied back with a grin. "But opinions are as ever-changing as the seasons. Sometimes. I have a cousin who is apparently wonderful. The things you miss when you don't get the family newsletters."

Alastair nearly choked on his latte. "Newsletters!!"

"I was being fantastical..." Johan explained with a wink. "They don't actually have newsletters, though they would probably be full of themselves enough to do just that. It would be a very frightening letterhead..." Johan winced just imagining it and he contented himself by drinking his mocha instead.

I crack myself up. I was re-reading scenes. I think I amuse no one as much as me, but at least I get a kick out of myself!!

Edit: Quinn chuckled. "You sound half toasted already, might as well surrender to the fumes, eh?! Oh my god, Eamon, I just realised what to go as to the philosophy department's Halloween party!"

"A fume?" Eamon asked, his eyebrows raised.

"No!" Quinn stuck his tongue out as his brother. "I'm going to go as postmodernism! I'll wear, 'this is a Halloween costume' on a sign around my neck and...oh god, no. It's too easy."
