The picture of the crumbled building there would make me think it's a hoax, if you hadn't actually seen the ad being run. That's just sick.

Yeah, it was right there on the side of the news page and I was utterly shocked.

Its quite possible that the ad takes random images from the internet and the person that put it up didn't pay much attention to the image.

I tried to call you when I heard, but I couldn't get through. Not sure if that was me, or the phone lines there. I heard you were okay through Ele, but haven't had a lot of time around working computers since.

I'm really, really relieved that you and the girls are okay. I didn't even know about the quake until I got messages from Ele and Klaire asking about you.

It was probably the phone lines, but they're working again! I tried to call you, but you were probably driving, sorry! We're okay though!

We went to the store today and stocked up on food. We haven't even had to break into our emergency supplies except the water which is awesome. This is why they're there of course, but I'm glad the store was open and trading, even though the floors had clearly just been swept of all the dirt that came up through the floor!

It is just SO unimaginable. I was in the city centre when it happened and it was...horrifying.

But we love you and we're okay and we're watching Dylan Moran and laughing and that's what matters!
