It's not a cry you can hear at night, it's not somebody who's seen the light...

I've just gotten so jaded riding the bus at 3:30 and hearing the things those kids SAY. When I was fourteen, I NEVER would have carried on like that! I swear like a sailor now, but dear lord. And it's not just swearing for emphasis, like I tend to do. They're calling each other names and saying some of the most HORRID STUFF I have ever heard. And I've heard some horrid things. They're so unbelievably rude. I just have to remind myself that not all kids in that age group act like monkeys, and thankfully I have Malik to remind me! But AURGH I want to tell them they have no idea what they're talking about sometimes. They just have NO idea. So to see a fourteen-year-old actually caring about someone else, and doing it in an actively engaging and encouraging way was just what I needed.
