Date: 2010-09-03 09:50 pm (UTC)Airport is closed at the moment but they hope it will be up again by midday, so hopefully you won't get stuck in auckland. Might be some backlogging though.
Hopefully you'll be able to check this before you arrive home too...
Have managed to check in with most people we know and they are all fine. The worst damage seems to be Cath and Jen's side of town but they're alright. Lots of big aftershocks. Toilets may be more of an issue than power but time will tell. A state of emergency hasn't been declared at the moment but that might change. Have sent you a text but the mobile networks were starting to fail but might be ok by the time you land.
There's bottles of water and that under shelves in the pantry! Hope you don't need that either but they did warn everyone to conserve water.
